The British Travel Awards 2025

In 2025, we created an uplifting partnership with the British Travel Awards that ran all year long, bringing feel-good moments to listeners and raising vital funds for projects delivered by small charities, making a big difference across the UK. It all led up to the spectacular live event at Grosvenor House on 8th December 2025, where travel’s brightest stars came together for an evening of celebration, connection and generosity.

A year of unforgettable giveaways

Smooth Radio was the home of the partnership, with some once-in-a-lifetime prizes, that raised an amazing £80,000, including:

  • An 11-night tour of India with Distant Journeys on Smooth
  • A £5,000 Solmar Villa holiday
  • A bucket-list trip to New York City

Two of our Smooth winners even found out live on-air with Kate Garraway revealing the life changing news to millions of listeners.

A spectacular night at the British Travel Awards

When the big night arrived, the British Travel Awards didn’t just celebrate the travel industry - they helped shine a spotlight on our mission, too.

Kate joined the event in person, taking to the stage to present an award on behalf of Make Some Noise and share the powerful stories behind the charities we support. Guests bid generously in a special silent auction, packed with incredible prizes including luxury holidays, VIP experiences and money-can’t-buy meet-and-greets. Across the partnership, a variety of fundraising mechanics - including a percentage of ticket and sponsor sales - helped guarantee a minimum of £100,000 for Make Some Noise.

Making big impact together

Thanks to the British Travel Awards, their partners and everyone who donated, funds from this partnership are now helping small charities across the UK support people facing homelessness, mental health challenges, disability, loneliness and crisis.

This year-long collaboration showed what can happen when an industry built on taking people places chooses to take impact further too.
