2016/17: HACS

HACS is a charity based in London, whose aim is to raise awareness and understanding of autism, resulting in a more inclusive local community. Although small, they currently support over 1,100 children and young people, aged between 3-25 years, living with autism in the Hillingdon area of West London.

Living with autism can mean these young people struggle with social communication and interaction. Many also have additional learning disabilities and can feel disconnected from other youngsters in their community.

Thanks to your support, Global’s Make Some Noise will be supporting HACS’ Saturday Club – an opportunity for the children and young people to have fun and meet new people. For many, this will be the only activity they take part in outside of school and home, as they’re often excluded from mainstream clubs due to their challenging behaviours. Here, they can interact with youngsters of a similar age, build friendships and feel less isolated.

There is no other service of this kind in the local area, and the demand continues to grow. We’re really proud to be supporting this vital project, which makes a real difference to the families it helps.
