What are challenge events?

Challenge events are an opportunity to take on a personal physical challenge such as a run, walk, or endurance event, while fundraising to support our work. You’ll be taking part in an organised event and raising money that makes a real difference.

How do I sign up?

You sign up through our challenge partner, Run for Charity, who manage charity places with event organisers. Once you’ve registered, you’ll receive everything you need to get started. See more info here.

Do I need to pay to sign up?

Yes. When you sign up, you’ll pay a registration fee. This secures your charity place in the event and helps cover the cost of the place, allowing more of your fundraising to go towards the cause.

How much do I need to fundraise?

Each challenge has a minimum fundraising target, which will be clearly shown before you sign up. These targets are in line with other charities and help ensure your challenge has a meaningful impact.

Can I choose a different challenge?

If the listed challenges aren’t quite right for you, we can usually help you find an alternative event through our challenge partner. Just get in touch and we’ll see what’s available.

What happens if I can’t take part anymore?

If your circumstances change and you can no longer take part, please contact us as soon as possible. Policies vary by event, but we’ll always do our best to support you.

What happens if I don’t reach my fundraising target?

By signing up, you’re committing to raising the minimum fundraising amount. If you’re struggling, we’ll support you with ideas and encouragement to help you get there.

Does all the money I raise go to the charity?

Your fundraising makes a vital difference. Some funds help cover the cost of your place, but the majority supports our work directly and helps us reach more people in need.

Is my place guaranteed once I sign up?

Yes - once you’ve registered and paid your registration fee, your charity place is secured, subject to event terms and conditions.
