Shaftesbury Capital lit up London for Make Some Noise

For the second year running, we partnered with Shaftesbury Capital, helping us celebrate the magic of the West End while raising vital funds for small charities across the UK.

From Carnaby Street magic in 2024…

Last year, we shone a spotlight on the iconic Carnaby Street Christmas lights. Capital XTRA brought the energy with breakfast presenters Rob & Shayna turning on the lights of one of London’s most loved seasonal displays. We continued our fundraising throughout the Christmas period. From fundraising at the Gingerbread Shed, with 15% of proceeds donated to Global’s Make Some Noise, to Steel Band Choir events, this was definitely a festive and feel-good brand partnership!

…to an even bigger, brighter partnership in 2025

This year, Shaftesbury Capital wanted to go even bigger. Together, we created a West End–wide festive campaign across Capital FM and Heart, that celebrated not just Carnaby Street but Covent Garden too - two of London’s most vibrant destinations.

Lighting up Covent Garden

We kicked things off on 12th December with the spectacular Covent Garden Christmas Lights Switch-On. Heart’s very own Pandora Christie took to the stage alongside Anna Whitehouse, joining an incredible line-up of stars including Celia Imrie, Stephen Fry and Hayley Atwell. Together, they welcomed thousands of Londoners to celebrate the start of the festive season - a moment filled with sparkle, laughter and community spirit.

A West End giveaway to remember

Across both Heart and Capital, we launched an epic prize giveaway, including the ultimate West End package, with shopping and dining experiences, as well as a luxury penthouse stay! Listeners embraced the magic of it all, with entries pouring in and excitement building across both networks.

Showcasing the best of Carnaby Street & Covent Garden

As December unfolded, our messaging evolved to highlight everything happening across the two iconic destinations - from world-class dining and one-of-a-kind shopping, to immersive pop-ups, twinkling light installations and festive fun for all ages.

Whether it was last-minute gifting, seasonal cocktails, or those all-important winter selfies under the lights, the partnership brought the joy and variety of the West End straight to our listeners.

And most importantly, this incredible activity helped raise £80,000 for Global’s Make Some Noise, supporting small charities that change lives right across the UK.

We are so grateful to Shaftesbury Capital for another year of generosity, creativity and festive sparkle.

Here’s to more lights, more laughter and more impact in 2026.
