Alfie Boe On Classic FM Charity Single: "It's A Very Pretty Song"

Alfie Boe revealed his thoughts on Classic FM’s charity single for Make Some Noise Day 2014, and we think he’s rather taken with it.

The English tenor, whose dazzling vocals appear on the track, opened up to John Suchet about his “stunning” experience recording ‘Steadfast’ as part of Global’s fundraising event.

“It’s a very pretty song, it’s a great melodic line,” he told the Classic FM presenter, who was also featured on the single with his trombone.

As well as lending his famous pipes to us, the award-winning singer also confessed he went to a huge amount of effort to get there for our special day.

“I flew in all the way from America to sing one line,” Alfie laughed. “I’m going to do some shopping as well though,” he assured John.

Among the galaxy of stars taking part alongside Alfie were soloist Katherine Jenkins OBE, composer and conductor Julian Reynolds, the students from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, Classic FM presenter Alexander Armstrong and piano player Myleene Klass.

‘Steadfast’ was written by Classic FM’s composer-in-residence Howard Goodall and was recorded at Air Studios. It is available on iTunes, and it sounds glorious but for now, hear a preview by clicking play below.
