Global's Make Some Noise makes new Board appointments

Global’s Make Some Noise, the official charity of Global, the Media & Entertainment group, has announced two new appointments to its Board.

Dena McCallum is appointed as the Chair of Trustees.  Dena co-founded the management consultancy Eden McCallum and has led an extensive pro-bono programme for charities.  Her appointment brings a wealth of experience in strategy, operations and organisation that will help drive forward the charity’s ambitions to reach more people.

The appointment of Dena McCallum comes as Jo Kenrick steps down as Chair of Trustees after eight years.

Stephen Miron, Global’s Group CEO, said: “We are delighted to welcome Dena McCallum as our new Chair of Global’s Make Some Noise. Dena’s experience and vision will help to drive forward our future impact. The charity has raised over £35million and changed the lives of over 200,000 people since it was founded, and it is something that every single Globaller cares passionately about.”

Additionally, David Bletso has been appointed as the Chair of Finance Committee, bringing extensive charity and media experience.  David replaces Michael Connole, who is stepping down as Chair of Finance Committee after nine years. Jonathan Norbury also steps down as a Trustee after completing his nine year term.

Suzanne Ryder Richardson, Director of Global Goodness at Global said: “We are excited to announce these two appointments, Dena and David’s leadership will steer our charity towards its new ambitions, empowering local communities and touching countless lives along the way. We are grateful to Jo, Michael and Jonathan for their generous contribution and commitment to Global’s Make Some Noise, which leaves an important legacy for us to build on.”

Global’s Make Some Noise funds crucial grassroots projects across the UK with the aim to make sure that nobody is left facing life’s toughest challenges alone. The grant giving charity raises funds and awareness of the biggest issues affecting society, and it gives the small charities it supports an opportunity to reach over 26.6 million weekly listeners across Global’s radio brands including Capital, Heart, Classic FM, Smooth, LBC, Radio X, Capital XTRA and Gold.
