Bike Some Noise whizz past charity target and cycle over 1,000 miles!

Our amazing Bike Some Noise team completely smashed their target of cycling 874 miles in 12 hours – the equivalent of the route from Land’s End to John 0’Groats – as part of Global’s Make Some Noise monster charity ride.

The huge distance was cycled in an amazing 9 hours, but our group of biking volunteers carried on cycling to raise even more money and more awareness for the fantastic charities we support, completing an awesome 1,190 miles!

Emma Willis, Stephen Mulhorn and Jenni Falconer revealed live on Heart FM at around 4pm on the day that our volunteers had cycled more than expected – three hours before their deadline was set to end, so they decided to turn around and cycle the distance back home again.

As well as the champions, several of Heart’s favourite presenters helped whizz past the 874 mile target including Jamie Theakston, Emma Bunton, Toby Anstis, Stephen Mulhern and Emma Willis, plus a couple of celebrity faces including Olly Murs, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean!

Presenters and champions kept themselves motivated by peddling to power sound systems to keep Heart’s ‘More Music Variety’ playing all day long.

“At the start we had no idea whether it was a feasible challenge, but yes, we managed to cycle 874 miles collectively – much quicker than we thought – and we all feel really good because we’ve raised so much money,” said Heart FM’s Jenni.

She added: “It was a little bit sore on the backside, a lot of lactic acid in the thighs, but actually it’s such a great atmosphere – we’ve seen sun, rain, wind, sun, rain, storms, it’s been brilliant.”

Thanks to everyone who got involved!
