By kind permission of Rt Hon George Osborne MP, Chancellor of the Exchequer, Global’s Make Some Noise were delighted to welcome many of our supporters and friends to a very special reception at 11 Downing Street.
The evening was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our achievements over the past 12 months, including the staggering £1.4 million that we’ve recently been able to award in grants to some brilliant small projects across the UK.
One of these projects is the Young Lives Foundation, who joined us at the event. LBC’s Nick Ferrari chatted to Paddy and Tiffany, two of the young people supported by the charity, about the life-changing support they have received.
The charity were presented with their cheque from Global’s Make Some Noise, and we were thrilled to be able to surprise them with a much bigger grant than they were expecting! The funds will go towards the charity’s activity and mentoring programmes, helping vulnerable and disadvantaged youngsters right across Kent.
Amongst the guests were Capital’s Marvin Humes, Smooth’s Kate Garraway and Classic FM’s John Suchet, plus Ed and Rachel from Heart Birmingham, who raised a fantastic £16,000 when Rachel faced her fears and abseiled down the iconic Fort Dunlop building on Make Some Noise Day.
We were welcomed to the event by Rt Hon John Whittingdale, and were also joined by our fantastic 2015 partners including Confused.com, LifeSkills from Barclays and Vodafone.
A huge thank you to all of our guests for joining us and for their ongoing support. Check out our gallery for some of the photos from the night – and watch this space for our exciting plans for 2016 and beyond!
