“Raw is so much more than a building. It’s a community, it’s an environment that has helped mould me into the artist I am today and it’s a family. It doesn’t matter how far along you are in your journey, the team at Raw will always be ready and willing to help you.”
Shogun Shato, 24
Shogun has always known he wanted to pursue a career in music. He started attending Raw 3 years ago, taking part in various creative programmes to support positive mental health during and after the pandemic.
In this time, Shogun has co-facilitated a programme, recorded a music video, performed with external events companies and helped to run the charity’s performance venue, ‘Tiny Brixton’ where he champions other performers within South London.
“I’ve always wanted to work in music, without Raw, my journey would have had very little direction and I wouldn’t be achieving what I am today“.
Global’s Make Some Noise will fund ‘Raw’s Young Creatives’ project for one year, a programme to support young people, experiencing mental health difficulties, through music.
