Classic FM Live stars Dress Loud at the Royal Albert Hall

Classic FM Live, hosted by John Suchet and Margherita Taylor, returned to the Royal Albert Hall on 22nd September – and it was certainly an evening to remember.

Star young pianist Ji Liu took to the stage to perform Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No.2, and ‘The Man with the Golden Flute’, whilst Sir James Galway played a selection of much-loved melodies for the audience at this prestigious venue.

In support of Global’s Make Some Noise, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, surprised and delighted the audience by donning feather boas, colourful bow ties and glittery hats to perform the show’s finale – Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture.

John Suchet and Margherita Taylor joined in the Dress Loud fun with their own glitzy accessories, and we were honoured to be joined on stage by Lesley Schatzberger, Director of Jessie’s Fund – just one of the brilliant projects we support.

The audience were inspired to hear from Lesley, who talked about the charity’s ‘Soundtracks Programme’ – an initiative giving children and young people in special needs schools the opportunity to participate in music.

We are delighted to announce that thanks to the generosity of the audience, over £6,500 was raised on the evening, which will help to improve the lives of disadvantaged children and young people all across the UK. A special thank you goes to John Oldham, who presented Global’s Make Some Noise with a cheque for £2,500 on behalf of The Oldham Foundation.
