Global presenters transformed as loud icons

Global presenters transformed as loud icons

Myleene Klass, Roman Kemp, Kate Garraway and Johnny Vaughan have been showing their support for Global’s Make Some Noise as they got painted as their favourite ‘loud icons’.

Renowned make-up artist, Maria Malone-Guerbaa, transformed the presenters into their chosen icons and perfected their look over THREE hours! That’s a long time in the make-up chair!

Have these looks inspired you to dress loud on Friday 6th October? They certainly have us.

For me, Freddie Mercury featured all the components of a true icon – unrivalled talent, rule-breaker and musical genius. His music has been replicated across so many other genres and will live on forever. It just shows just what an incredible writer and master performer he really was.

I took part in this shoot for Global’s Make Some Noise because there are so many people who don’t get the opportunities they deserve. Global’s charity is a platform to give smaller charities a voice to raise funds and get their message out there and really help people – all through the medium of music and entertainment!” Myleene Klass

“‘The Marshall Mathers LP’ was the first album I owned.  My mum bought it for me as she wanted me to listen to how people can turn their own personal experiences into music and be creative with it. For me, Eminem is an absolute icon… and he is definitely loud!

We get to meet and work with incredible charities.  These are the small charities that don’t have lots of money and worry if they’ll even be able to maintain doing what they do for the next year.  To be able to raise money and help them reach millions of people gives them that bit of breathing space to focus on what they’re trying to achieve.  It is really worthwhile and every year we raise even more money, which is incredible.” Roman Kemp

I’ve been a lifelong fan of David Bowie. He inspired generations of people all over the world, not just through his music but also visually and artistically. So it’s been a dream come true to get the chance to be transformed into him before my very eyes! It was so clever, I didn’t recognise myself. Global’s Make Some Noise is all about inspiration and transformation too. We want to inspire everyone to help transform the lives of youngsters across the UK.

It’s an amazing initiative, supporting charities that don’t get much attention and raising awareness for smaller organisations that need a helping hand, lucky break or a leg up. Helping them to make some noise so they can support even more people is just brilliant.” Kate Garraway

When I heard that Myleene and Kate were being painted as Freddie Mercury and David Bowie, I felt I had to represent the fellas and so I chose to be Debbie Harry, the queen of punk. She was my first crush. I loved Blondie, and ‘Parallel Lines’ was one of the greatest albums of that era.

It means so much to be a part of Global’s Make Some Noise, especially when we get to meet a lot of the people Global have helped. When you start talking to them about how our support has changed their lives and projects, it makes me incredibly proud be a part of it.” Johnny Vaughan
